Amod is a town that belongs to Bharuch district of Gujarat. It is sited at a distance of 39 km away form the district Headquarters Bharuch and 162 km away form the Gujarat state capital Gandhinagar. Gujarati and Hindi are the most spoken languages of the town. By the beginning of 20th century the majority of Amod was owned by Thakore Sahib. The land earned them 72000 rupees monthly against the Amod municipality income of just 6100 rupees.  The popular localities of Amod are Laljin, Kakuji Wadi and Rana Street.

Amod is elevated at a height of 15 meters above sea level and it has its coordinates at 22.00° North latitude and 72.87° East longitude. The town is surrounded by Jambusar Taluka in the west, Vagra Taluka in the South, Karjan Taluka in the East and Bharuch Taluka in the South. River Vishwamitri flows close to the town also Amod is located on the coastal region near the banks of Arabian Sea towards its west. Amod lies near the banks of Gulf of Khambhat of Arabian Sea. River Tapi flows towards the East of the town. River Dhadhar flows at 48 km away from the town towards its South.
